What is Baron Corbin talking about?

King Corbin had a rough night on the Nov. 27 episode of SmackDown. He lost a match against Murphy, partially due to an absurd level of interference from the Mysterio family, who were ringside for the bout. Afterwards, Corbin grabbed the microphone and bemoaned that he wasn’t ready to deal with those heinous four-on-one circumstances. Corbin demanded a rematch with Murphy on next week’s episode of SmackDown, and he warned that this time he’ll come prepared. On today’s slate of NFL games on FOX, that rematch was officially confirmed.

So, what exactly does Corbin mean when he says he’ll be prepared next time?

The very first thought I had is that he’ll find two new henchmen to watch his back and do his dirty work. Corbin has a history of surrounding himself with other heels. From fall 2018 through spring 2019 he was part of an evil league of evil with Bobby Lashley & Drew McIntyre on Raw. Shortly after being drafted over to SmackDown in fall 2019, Corbin then aligned himself with Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode for a classic tale of dog food humiliation with the Big Dog that stretched into February 2020.

I’m dreading the idea that Seth Rollins’ absence could mean it’s time to elevate Corbin back up the card on Friday nights, but sticking Corbin with two other heels is usually how it begins. If this is where we’re headed, what heels might be joining up with the king this time? Cesaro & Shinsuke Nakamura haven’t been doing much lately. Other SmackDown wrestlers who have some time on their hands include Lars Sullivan, Kalisto, and Aleister Black.

Alternatively, it’s possible that Corbin’s warning for the Myserios and Murphy has nothing to do with adding some new henchmen to the fold. Maybe he plans to use a ThunderDome forklift to trap the Mysterios in their dressing room. Perhaps Corbin is going to put a king’s ransom on their head. Maybe he got his hands on the paternity test that Rollins alluded to months ago, and Corbin is going to bring the Mysterio family crashing down by revealing that Rey is actually Murphy’s father.

I mean, I’m pretty sure we’re getting new henchmen, but I’m trying to keep an open mind. Let me know in the comments what you think Corbin means when he says he’ll be better prepared for this rematch with Murphy.
