Rita Reis makes her NXT debut with a new name

Rita Reis made her singles in-ring debut last night on NXT and is now going by a new ring name.

Her name is now Valentina Feroz and she took on a returning Mercedes Martinez in a losing effort. Feroz appeared in a Battle Royal that took place on Sept. 23 in which Candice LeRae won in order to face Io Shirai. She was doing house shows prior to the pandemic and signed with the company in 2019. She was in the same class as Santana Garrett, Briana Brandy, and Catalina Garcia.

Feroz is Brazilian and has a background in Jiu-Jitsu and Judo.  She made history by becoming the first female to win a Bronze Medal in the Judo World Championship at the age of 19. She has trained for Olympic wrestling and in 2017 she became a Jiu-Jitsu World Champion.

She celebrated her debut on her Twitter.

“I will not stop, the road is too long I will continue, even in the midst of struggles I’m not alone.”

“I feel with a heart full of affection for having your attention. Thank you!”
