Deonna Purrazzo officially signs with IMPACT Wrestling

Deonna Purrazzo is no longer considered a Free Agent as the Knockouts Champion has officially signed a long term deal with IMPACT. The news first broke by Josh Mathews during the IMPACT Press Pass Call which was promoting Bound for Glory. Purrazzo will be defending her title at that event against Kylie Rae this Saturday, Oct. 24.

Purrazzo confirms the news on her Twitter account which you can see below. There had been prior reports that Purrazzo was offered this long term contract and that she was very interested in signing. Rumors were also swirling that she was going to leave in October prior to receiving the current contract.

The Virtuosa was released by WWE earlier in the year from their NXT brand. She was let go during the budget cutbacks the company did in April as a result of the ongoing health pandemic.

It didn’t take long for her to show up in IMPACT at the end of May. She attacked then-champion Jorydnne Grace on a weekly episode after Grace successfully defended her title against Taya Valkyrie. Purrazzo defeated Grace for the title at Slammiversary in July. She has since successfully defended the title against Grace and Susie.

Longtime Knockout Madison Rayne has been said to be a key component in getting eyes on Purrazzo for the company. She thanked Rayne in a Twitter response to the news of her singing.
