The G1 Finals are set

New Japan’s Twitter

Block action in New Japan’s G1 Climax 30 wrapped up today (Sat., Oct. 17) at Tokyo’s Ryogoku Sumo Hall. And, thanks to KENTA defeating IWGP Heavyweight & Intercontinental champion Tetsuya Naito earlier in the show, the winner of B Block came down to the main event pitting SANADA against his former Los Ingobernables de Japon faction-mate EVIL.

This one had all the f***ery you’d expect from a big Bullet Club match (EVIL defected to the Biz Cliz at the end of another of tournament, this summer’s New Japan Cup). Dick Togo interfered often on behalf of EVIL; fortunately for SANADA, LIJ teammate Hiromu Takahashi was on commentary and took Togo out on a couple occasions.

Finally, a SANADA dodge sent EVIL crashing into Togo, and created an opening for a roll-up win for SANADA. After a quick post-match promo vowing to win the illustrious tournament and earn a Wrestle Kingdom title shot, he’s on to face Kota Ibushi tomorrow in the finals.

Can the man who suffered through TNA’s second worst excursion screw-up win the big one? Or can Ibushi claim his second straight G1 briefcase?

We’ll know in 24 hours.
