Two title matches booked for Raw next week

After revealing this year’s Survivor Series pay-per-view (PPV) will follow the model of brand-vs-brand, champion-vs-champion match-ups, WWE has repeatedly emphasized that those match-ups could change before we get to the big show. That would, of course, require the champions from each brand actually defending their titles on television.
Sure enough, two title matches were booked for Monday Night Raw next week.
First, Randy Orton will put the WWE championship on the line against Drew McIntyre. This will be the rematch from their encounter at Hell in a Cell that saw Orton win the title.
Then, The New Day will defend the Raw tag team titles against Cedric Alexander & Shelton Benjamin from The Hurt Business. While The Miz & John Morrison were pushing themselves as possible contenders, it was Alexander & Benjamin who scored a win over Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston last week in a non-title match, so they’re first in line for an actual title match.
Next week’s episode of Raw represents the go home show to Survivor Series, so if a title change happens it will be just six days before the event.
