Impact’s Knockouts tag title tournament bracket revealed

Impact is bringing back the Knockouts tag team titles. Such an honor can only be achieved through winning a tournament, which kicks off Tuesday on Impact Wrestling. The bracket was revealed last night during Turning Point, and it features four, maybe five, new names for the Knockouts division.

• Tenille Dashwood & Alisha Edwards vs Havok & Nevaeh
• Killer Kelly & Renee Michelle vs Jordynne Grace & TBA
• Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz vs Sea Stars (Ashley Vox & Delmi Exo)
• Deonna Purrazzo & Kimber Lee vs Taya & Rosemary

Impact didn’t have enough talent to fill an 8-team field, so they brought in extra hands. Killer Kelly, Renee Michelle, Ashley Vox, and Delmi Exo fill those roles. In a funny twist, Michelle is married to Drake Maverick (fka Rockstar Spud), who cut his teeth in Impact. The wrestling world is a small place.

The biggest question is who will tag with Jordynne Grace. Tenille Dashwood dumped Grace at Turning Point and picked up Alisha Edwards instead. The easy solution would be for Madison Rayne to jump in the mix. She was also dumped by Dashwood as a potential partner. A surprise name could be Allysin Kay. That’s pure speculation on my behalf from connecting the dots of seeing fellow NWA wrestler Ashley Vox in the tournament. Kay would be a hot commodity to add sizzle and legitimacy if Grace’s squad gets to the finals.

The biggest match of the opening round is Deonna Purrazzo & Kimber Lee versus Taya & Rosemary. That is a tough one to call. Purrazzo won the Knockouts Championship last night at Turning Point, so she’ll have momentum on her side. Taya and Rosemary are one of the favorites to go the distance. A potential second round bout against Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz has me excited. I’m rolling with Hogan and Steelz to win it all.
