Prediction: Taya Valkyrie & Rosemary to win Knockouts Tag Team Titles
The Knockouts Tag Team Championship is back. New champions will be crowned in January at IMPACT’s Hard to Kill event. Leading up to that event we will see 16 women (8 teams) battle it out in a tournament to get to the finals.
It is my prediction that Taya Valkyrie and Rosemary will win the tournament and become the new Knockouts Tag Team Champions. The first champions since the titles were deactivated in 2013. Let’s see how we would get to that conclusion.
The tournament begins tonight on IMPACT. The first two teams that are advertised to face each other include the makeshift team of Alisha and Tenille Dashwood vs. Havok & Nevaeh.
The prediction for the outcome of this match is that Havok & Nevaeh will advance. The reason for that conclusion is that they are already a well-established team. They have been a team on the indie scene and have that dynamic in tag team wrestling. If they don’t advance from the first round, that would be a big upset.
The next match that is on the bracket is between Killer Kelly & Renee Michelle vs. Jordynne Grace and a partner that has yet to be determined.
Something tells me that the winners of this match will be Grace and her partner. Some reasoning is that Grace is signed with IMPACT and perhaps the partner will end up being a new Knockout? Having Kelly & Michelle (why did this sound like Destiny’s Child?) win would be great, but with a surprise entrant, it almost guarantees that Grace will advance.
The third match listed has two more unsigned talents and that is Team Sea Stars. They will be taking on Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz.
It is my thought process that at least one of the unsigned teams will advance. It may be an unpopular opinion, but I feel as though Team Sea Stars will take this first-round match. They have had a lot of success so far in the independent scene, so I could see them being the surprise of the tournament.
Lastly, for the first round, we have the Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo and Kimber Lee facing Taya Valkyrie and Rosemary. Seeing as I am predicting for Valkyrie and Rosemary to take the whole thing, they would advance. Lee could easily take the pin for this match which may break up Purrazzo and herself. Lee could be a nice feud next for Purrazzo.
From here we move on to Havok & Nevaeh facing Jordynne Grace and her partner. Depending on who her partner will be and assuming it may be a big deal, I can see them moving on from here to the finals. That leaves Sea Stars vs. Valkyrie & Rosemary. Sea Stars will likely put up one heck of a fight here, impressing many on a bigger stage, but in the end Valkyrie & Rosemary advance.
The prediction for the finals is Grace & her partner vs. Valkyrie & Rosemary. Valkyrie & Rosemary winning would make the most sense. They have had the most concrete story surrounding them out of any of the teams. Rosemary tied the knot, her husband was shot, and she is a prime suspect along with Valkyrie. Not sure if they would stretch this storyline out until January, but hey, Aces & Eights never seemed to end so why not?
Who do you think will win the tournament and go on to become Knockouts Tag Team Champions?
