The top champions throwing hands on PPV — what more could you want?
The match
Universal Champion Roman Reigns takes on WWE Champion Drew McIntyre at tonight’s (Sun., Nov. 22, 2020) WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view (PPV) from the ThunderDome at Amway Center in Orlando, Florida.
The story
There isn’t all that much to this, considering it’s happening not because there’s a compelling feud between the two but because they both just so happen to be the top champion on Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown, respectively.
That almost wasn’t the case. McIntyre defeated Randy Orton to become WWE champion just this past Monday night, setting us up for this. He followed that up by coming to SmackDown for a contract signing, where Reigns, because he’s awesome, spent the entire time calling him his “favorite number two.”
He was referring to McIntyre as a secondary champion, the number two champion, if you will, but also that’s a really great way to call someone a piece of shit on national television.
Really, how much story do you need? It’s two big dudes throwing hands. Enjoy the collision.
