Winners & Losers: SmackDown 11.27.20
This week’s SmackDown certainly didn’t deliver a lot for their women’s roster. One match we did receive however was Bianca Belair taking on Natalya. Bayley was on commentary.
Bianca Belair defeated Natalya
In a direct fallout from Team SmackDown’s loss at Survivor Series, we have Belair who was the last for the blue team, Natalya who fought week after week to be on in, and Bayley who was the self-proclaimed captain. As Bayley sits on commentary she still refers to herself as not just a Role Model but a captain.
It took Natalya spilling to the outside for things to get heated. Bayley taunts Belair saying she doesn’t want to get counted out again (as she did at Survivor Series). Natalya went to punch Belair who ducked out of the way as Bayley almost became the recipient of that fist. What did end up happening was Belair going to strike Natalya and nailed Bayley instead.
As Belair and Natalya get back in the ring, Natalya tries to apply the Sharpshooter. Bayley hops on the apron. Belair kicks Natalya off of her countering the submission maneuver which causes her to knock into Bayley. Belair takes advantage of this and rolls up Natalya for the win.
Next, we have the SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks getting some much-needed revenge on Carmella.
Carmella returned several weeks ago and for three weeks in a row, she has attacked the champion from behind. In a backstage segment, she recaps her attacks and says she used to be a lot like Banks. At one time she had it all as champion herself. What ended up happening was that she catered to the fans and became a dancing fool, which refers to her time with R-Truth and their dance breaks.
She continues by adding that she is done doing things for others. She calls the shots now and everyone jumps for her. As she snaps her fingers to have her champagne delivered to her, it ends up being Banks who is delivering it. The SmackDown Women’s Champion then provides a vicious attack as she locks in the Bank Statement on the Untouchable one.
Officials finally pull off Banks as they move Carmella away off camera, The Boss yells saying she wants Carmella to fight her next week like a real woman.
Lastly, we have Billie Kay. She continues to show her resume and headshots to virtually anyone who will listen. This time she shows up on commentary and boasts about herself to Michael Cole and Corey Graves.
Clearly trying to get a spot on commentary, Kay says she has an extensive background in talking.
I must say I am enjoying this humor from Kay as she is always willing to deliver comic relief to the show. Personally, I just want to see more from this. WWE tends to drop something really quick or not progress something as well as they should. Kay should receive a talk show of her own which can develop into a feud with someone. I am just glad they are still showing her on our screens.
Let’s get into the Winners & Losers of the week:
WINNER: Bianca Belair
Bianca stays winning. I am also super excited that a feud between her and Bayley seems to be stirring. She has commented on numerous occasions that she wants to fight Sasha but Bayley as well. Bayley is a nice feud to lead Bianca through until we get closer to WrestleMania which I fully need her facing Sasha to happen.
WINNER: Sasha Banks
Good comeback for Sasha. Finally, something has progressed besides just Carmella jumping her week after week. I will say that something more has to happen or the feud between these two may get stale fast. Although I am fully predicting this as just a temporary feud before Sasha and Bianca go at it, I am still wanting the best out of it.
LOSER: Natalya
Nattie tends to get stuck in these storylines where she is just spinning her wheels. If it was someone else who had the moniker of ‘Best of All Time’ they would be winning matches. For Nattie though she is doing just the opposite. I guess that is the irony in it all but I feel she always gets stuck with gimmicks that make her look like a fool.
