Miz will have a great cash-in opportunity at Tribute to the Troops
WWE’s annual Tribute to the Troops is a weird show.
Mostly, it’s a house show designed to put smiles on the faces of American servicepeople and their families. But when it’s televised, as it will be this Sunday afternoon on Fox (time dependent on what NFL games are showing in your area), it also fits into the storylines happening on Raw and SmackDown.
That can pretty easily be accomplished with tag and multi-person matches, which is what two of three bouts announced for this weekend’s broadcast are.
Three HUGE matches have been announced for this Sunday’s WWE Tribute to the Troops! #WWETroops

– Daniel Bryan, Street Profits, Jeff Hardy & Kalisto vs. King Corbin, Elias, Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode
– Sasha Banks & Bianca Belair vs. Bayley & Natalya
The first primarily serves to advance the blue brand’s Tag title feud… along with giving us a little more Elias vs. Hardy action, for some reason. The latter should advance the Bayley/Belair storyline that’s been going on since Survivor Series.
We’re also getting a singles match, and it’s an interesting one:
The Miz holds the Money in the Bank briefcase. He’s also got an agreement in principle with #1 contender AJ Styles, where both men want Miz to be champ at TLC so Styles can face the A-Lister rather than McIntyre.
Seems like a good place to enact a plan, no?
We’ll see if that’s a route WWE takes*. As long as the troops streaming in to ThunderDome have a good time, it’ll all be good.
* Or took, since this taped earlier today.
