Barrett is happy with his job in WWE
Back in September, Wade Barrett permanently joined the NXT announce team. He’s done an admirable job in that role too, slotting in nicely to a revamped desk following the departure of Mauro Ranallo.
There have been questions regarding whether or not he’s actually done with the wrestling part of his pro wrestling career. In October, he mentioned having “a lot left in the tank” and only being 40-years-old. He’s already close to being ready to go.
There’s no reason to think that’s going to happen anytime soon, though, and he sure seems okay with that:
Can confirm.. I’m loving every second of being on the #WWENXT commentary desk. Could not be happier, the show kicks ass. https://t.co/Xd8IRcLJcD

It helps that NXT is, generally speaking, an enjoyable show that doesn’t run for three hours and isn’t bogged down by the same creative issues the main roster shows deal with. Having said that, one would think the itch to get back in the ring, even for one last program, will eventually grow so much he won’t be able to avoid scratching it.
For now, good for Barrett for finding a job he likes.
