Women’s Tag Team Titles to be defended on this week’s SmackDown

It was announced last night during RAW that the Women’s Tag Team Championships will be defended this Friday on SmackDown. The newly crowned champions of Charlotte Flair & Asuka will have to defend their titles they won at the TLC pay-per-view against a team that has not been disclosed. This will be the first time that the tag titles have been defended on the blue brand since Sept. 4.

On last night’s RAW, three teams from the brand tried to put themselves in contention to become champions. The first match of the night saw the team of Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke taking on the former tag champs Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler. Jax & Baszler would continue to show their dominance as they defeated Rose and Brooke.

Later in the night, the new champions would defeat Peyton Royce and Lacey Evans in a non-title match. Royce and Evans weren’t exactly on the same page which caused a lot of tension and bickering between the two. Royce would end up tapping out to the Figure Eight by Flair.

Shifting to the fact that the blue brand only has one fully formed team of The Riott Squad, who will end up being the opponents for Flair & Asuka’s first title defense?

Who do you think we will see taking on The Queen and The Empress on Friday? Leave your thoughts below.
