AEW star says he’ll be out of action for months due to injury

On last night’s (Dec. 23) episode of Dynamite, AEW ran an injury angle during Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford’s wedding date reveal. Their special announcement was briefly interrupted by the Best Friends’ theme music, but it turned out to be a misleading ruse devised by Miro, Sabian, and Ford.

The heels cut to a video that showed Trent being loaded into an ambulance, with Chuck Taylor and Orange Cassidy by his side. The presumption is that Trent was ambushed and injured backstage by Miro.

That angle might be providing cover for a real life injury. Trent tweeted out the following message tonight, claiming he will be out for months due to a torn pectoral muscle.

Trent competed in a 12-man tag team match on the Dec. 16 episode of Dynamite, so if this is a real injury, then it probably occurred in that match. If this is just a pro wrestler working to get an angle over, well, we’ll see if Trent is back in time to crash the big wedding at Beach Break on Feb. 3, 2021.

In the meantime, feel free to put on your detective hats and let us know in the comments below if you noticed anything unusual with Trent during the 12-man tag team match that could explain how he suffered this injury.
