G.I. Bro returned for Bad Bunny’s ‘Booker T’ video
When Bad Bunny – the Puerto Rican musician who’s been called the world’s biggest pop star, especially after he was announced as Spotify’s most streamed artist in 2020 – included a song called “Booker T” on his album El Último Tour Del Mundo – the first all-Spanish language album to chart at number one on the Billboard 200 – we took note of it.
Was it “news” though? We’re a wrestling fan site, and have long known Bad Bunny’s one of us. He’s talked about the influence wrestling has on his music & activism. He’s one of many hip hop artists to work with Ric Flair. In 2019, Bunny booked a video around Stone Cold Steve Austin, and got a promotional assist from Undertaker.
But “Booker T” is more about the vibe represented by the six-time WWE World champ than it is the man himself. So while it was cool, I didn’t really consider it something we needed to discuss on this here pro wrestling blog.
Dropping a video with the man himself decked out in his old G.I. Bro gear from the Texas independents (and a brief run in Russo-era WCW) though? It’s my duty to make sure as many wrestling fans as possible know about that.
I may be a middle-aged dude with rudimentary Spanish skills. But I am a sucka who can dig that.
Also, the only thing that looks better than Book’s mustache are those guns. Maybe G.I. Bro should return to the ring, too? His entrance music’s a no-brainer.
Soy un rey, campeón, Booker T, ayyyyy!
