NXT announces the next TakeOver, and a women’s Dusty Classic
As they delivered a card many called TakeOver-worthy tonight (Jan. 6) and prepared for the start of the sixth Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament next Wednesday, NXT announced future plans that are just as big.
First, it was revealed that we’ll have a pretty quick turnaround to the next WWE Network special. WarGames was Dec. 6, and the next TakeOver is coming our way on Feb. 14. Will they return to numbers and give us 33? Or should we expect a Valentine’s Day themed subtitle?
At least we have a date. The other big news didn’t come from one, but it’s pretty exciting nonetheless. With what many consider the best women’s division in all of wrestling, why should the men be the only one’s to get a tag tournament? General Manager William Regal says they shouldn’t, so the Women’s Dusty Classic is on tap for 2021.
ABOUT TIME.
Per #WWENXT GM @RealKingRegal, the WOMEN’S #DustyCup is coming your way, soon! #WeAreNXT #NXTNYE pic.twitter.com/D7btsuCPso

The winner of the men’s Cup gets an NXT Tag title shot, but NXT doesn’t have Women’s Tag belts. WWE has a set that’s supposed to travel across all three brands, though… maybe the ones currently held by Asuka & Charlotte Flair should be defended against the first ever Women’s Dusty winners?
Let us know what you think, Cagesiders. We’ll keep you posted on any new news about the Classic or next month’s TakeOver.
