Mustafa Ali and Sgt. Slaughter are calling each other ‘maggot’
WWE and Mustafa Ali have been pushing the idea the RETRIBUTION leader went rogue on Raw Talk last week when speaking about his group not getting air time during Raw’s Jan. 4 Legends Night show.

Even before he was working his current anti-WWE gimmick, Ali was targeted with hate simply because he’s Muslim, and has brown skin. This angle brought some more of those kinds of tweets (from accounts that seem to have disappeared over the past few days, likely because of or in protest of Twitter’s purge of users who spread conspiracy theories which fueled last week’s insurrection):
You go back to yours first. https://t.co/sIzBlxHH7S

And some from fans who really believe his comments on last Monday’s post-show were a legitimate attack on the wrestling greats of yesteryear. One of those tweets got an in-character response from none other than Sgt. Slaughter:
Listen Up @Caseyk1King Thanks For UR Support Of ALL Those Who Paved The Yellow Brick Road That The Scum & Puke @AliWWE Has Been Allowed To Put His Slimy Foot On‼️Look Up “Maggot” In ANY Dictionary U Will See A Photo Of @AliWWE NO Push Ups For U @Caseyk1King

Other than being our second recent example of how embarrassing it can be when septuagenarians use textspeak, having a WWE Legend who plays a military character calling him a “maggot” is only likely to inspire more of the first kind of tweet from any bigots who aren’t currently trying to figure out how to log onto Parler.
That’s probably why Ali brought it right back to kayfabe, and Slaughter’s own sometimes scummy & pukeworthy history:
Remember when you betrayed our country, maggot? https://t.co/KhqOk0ZPxV pic.twitter.com/8uqF9KZ9GX

This all seems a little “playing with fire” given [gestures broadly at the world]. But if it leads to meaningful stories that help Ali and the rest of his stable get over, it still could be worth it.
Will that happen? Hopefully RETRIBUTION will be on Raw tonight and we can find out.
