The duo of Josh Mathews and Madison Rayne will no longer be calling the action in Impact Wrestling. A new pair will be given the reins starting at Impact’s Hard to Kill PPV on January 16. Get ready for the era of Matt Striker and D’Lo Brown at the announce table.

Fear not for the future of Josh Mathews. He received a promotion to Senior Producer and a new multi-year contract. Mathews is excited for the changes. Per the press release:
My play-by-play career has spanned nearly 20 years – from WrestleMania to Bound For Glory to incredible moments from IMPACT Wrestling on AXS TV. Producing will allow me to have a bigger role in the overall production of our weekly show, PPVs and IMPACT+ Specials.
This transition has been a great process, Matt and D’Lo are bringing a fresh energy and are ready to go. It was a special year in 2020, and both Madison Rayne and I will always be grateful for the opportunity and look forward to these exciting changes.
Madison Rayne will also remain with Impact, but the details are a bit of a mystery at the moment. Impact is teasing that she will discuss her wrestling future at Hard to Kill.
Striker’s last steady commentary wrestling gig was alongside Vampiro in Lucha Underground. I’ve always been a fan of his encyclopedic style, so I’m looking forward to his run as lead commentator.
Brown was a member of the nefarious Aces & Eights faction in Impact, as well as former WWE Intercontinental Champion and four-time WWE European Champion. Most recently, Brown was working backstage as a producer for Impact with occasional pop-ups on screen. He was last seen being bludgeoned by Ken Shamrock’s fists.
I hope there will be a camera constantly pointed at the announce table, so they can show every time D’Lo does his head wiggle. I’m also wondering if he will wear his chest protector while working. One can never be too careful with all the lunatics running around in Impact.
Are you excited for the switch from Josh Mathews and Madison Rayne to Matt Striker and D’Lo Brown?
