Elayna Black will be in Dusty Classic match on 205 Live, won’t wrestle Joey Janela
It’s been an eventful week for Elayna Black.
The Chicago native spent last weekend beefing with Joey Janela on Twitter. Fans were playing “work or shoot?” with the exchanges, especially after WWE announced Black had signed with the company. She got a new gimmick name – Cora Jade – and appeared on television Wednesday night, standing on the Capital Wrestling Center stage with Beth Phoenix, William Regal, and the 15 other wrestlers competing in the first ever Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament.
Riding the buzz off that, Gamechanger Wrestling announced Black would face Janela next Saturday (Jan. 30) as part of their Fight Forever weekend of streaming shows.

If you saw that and thought to yourself, “there’s no way WWE is going to let her work an intergender match against an AEW-contracted wrestler now that her signing is official,” you thought right!
NOT HAPPENING….
It was good to go, 5 min after we announced it, It wasn’t anymore lol
I truly wish @CoraJadeWWE well, she has all the potential in the world and will be very rich!
Just Unfortunately before she goes, she’s doesn’t get to wrestle the greatest wrestler in the https://t.co/Y6H3y8h7lz— “The Bad Boy” Joey Janela (@JANELABABY) January 22, 2021
So sorry to all the fans @GCWrestling_ & @JANELABABY for not being able to make the show. Some things kinda came up BUT it’s still gonna be a sick show so please watch and continue to donate if possible! #FightForever

The silver lining for Black… I mean Jade… is, she will make her in-ring WWE debut tonight (Jan. 22). She and Gigi Dolin (fka Priscilla Kelly) face Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell in Dusty Cup action on 205 Live. The show will also feature the final first round match from the men’s tournament, pitting the recently-paired Timothy Thatcher & Tommaso Ciampa against Tony Nese & Ariya Daivari.
So alls well that ends well for Cora. Bit of a bummer for the Bad Boy, but it does create an opening for another performer to make a name for themselves next weekend.
That’s the wrestling business for ya.
