SmackDown women’s title match now official for Royal Rumble

During last week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Sasha Banks made it clear to Carmella that she would defend her SmackDown women’s championship against her provided her assistant, Reginald, would wrestle Banks in a separate match.

He did just that on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, the first true intergender match WWE has promoted in a number of years. Reginald was presented as at least somewhat competitive but Banks still submitted him with relative ease before dumping him at Carmella’s feet.

Either way, it makes the Banks vs. Carmella title match official for the Royal Rumble pa-per-view on Sun., Jan. 31, 2021, at the ThunderDome at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida.

• Women’s Royal Rumble match
• Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Goldberg (WWE championship)
• Roman Reigns (c) vs. Kevin Owens (Universal championship Last Man Standing match)
• Sasha Banks (c) vs. Carmella (SmackDown women’s championship)
