Well, The Big Show Show’s been cancelled
It’s a big bad cancelled show about Big Show now.
The Big Show Show premiered earlier this year on Netflix. A TGIF-esque sitcom starring Paul Wight as a fictional version of himself trying to adjust to life as a homebody dad after his wrestling career, it seemed to be well-received by its target audience. The series was part of WWE Studios’ production deal with the streaming giant, and the company did a fair amount of promotion for it.
Alas, it wasn’t enough to get Netflix to order a second season. After an eight episode run, a part in the Game On “comedy crossover event” with other family-friendly laugh-tracky multi-cam shows ( Mr. Iglesias, Family Reunion, and the also cancelled Ashley Garcia: Genius in Love), and a Christmas special which will premiere in December, Netflix opted not to renew The Big Show Show.
Series co-creator Jason Berger confirmed the news, first reported by Deadline:
on behalf of the staff, cast, and crew of #thebigshowshow…thank you to everyone who watched either with your fam or alone in your basement. Netflix was a dream to work with AND we had a blast making the show. Rare air! Please take care of each other! https://t.co/dBaiehyu1h

Big Show’s worked intermittently for WWE as a wrestler this year, and showed off his versatility while doing so. He helped establish new WWE champ Drew McIntyre over in a WrestleMania 36 bonus match that aired on Raw, and teaming with Street Profit & Viking Raiders against Akira Tozawa & his ninjas a couple months later.
We’ll see what’s next for Show, and WWE Studios’ Netflix deal, in the wake of this news.
