MLW Roundup: Pillman Jr. surprise return, Team Filthy new member, more!
MLW.com
Let’s catch up on the week’s news in MLW and preview Saturday night’s episode of MLW Underground. Dominic Garrini has been found, Team Filthy has a new member, and Brian Pillman Jr. made a surprise return.
If you missed the news earlier this week, MLW announced they are ready to restart. They will film a closed show in October to air in November. MLW is scouting locations. “Sources confirmed league officials have looked at as many as six undisclosed locations, including in the greater Boston area, Southern California, the Midwest and yes, even an island.”
Pulp Fusion
MLW’s storylines offered several surprises in Pulp Fusion.
The format of Pulp Fusion is a quick cut montage of promos intermixed with each other. Let’s break it down.
- Tom Lawlor and Erick Stevens were in the Amazon looking for Dominic Garrini. They were stranded after burning through the sponsor money. All of a sudden, Garrini emerged from the jungle. He found the new man to join Team Filthy. That person was wrecking fools at Inoki Genome Jungle Fights. A dude emerged from the bushes. His name was Kevin Ku. Ku is MLW’s newest signee and the newest member of Team Filthy. Lawlor was satisfied.
- Richard Holliday introduced us to his new show, “Consume This with Richard Holliday.” His co-host had a bad connection and was not present yet. The guest was supposed to be the biggest Canadian star today. Holliday believed it would be Drake. Alicia Atout cut in. She immediately let the profanities fly for Holliday trying to steal her show. Atout committed blatant gimmick infringement by referring to her father/agent. Holliday blew his top about the slash. Atout wanted to rebrand Holliday as “Little” Dick Holliday. She also insulted his rarefied air. Atout even suggested that her father/agent could beat up Holliday’s father/lawyer.
- Konnan spoke about Salina de la Renta’s money issues, double crossing, and people looking for her. If he’s wrong, then why would she have a bodyguard now?
- Savio Vega wants MLW to visit Puerto Rico. He knows the fans will give a great welcome to the papa’s boy Holliday. Vega’s baseball bat will give Holliday a hot greeting.
- Alexander Hammerstone is ready for the MLW restart. He will bring a change of pace and hopes everyone can keep up.
- Myron Reed and Jordan Oliver were back tooting their own horn about being the best. Whack! Brian Pillman Jr. is back. He hit both men with a chair. Pillman cackled with laughter at their pain.
Pillman! Good to see him return to MLW. There were mixed feelings when he began appearing for AEW and wanted out of MLW since they weren’t holding shows. With MLW back on tap, it appears that the relationship has been smoothed out.
That was a great surprise to attack Injustice. Before the coronavirus break, they continually ambushed him backstage over several weeks. Pillman got a little justice of his own. It’s funny how Injustice has become the punching bag of Pulp Fusion. They talked mad shit about Contra, then Simon Gotch choked out Oliver. It happened again with Pillman. They should consider hiring Salina’s bodyguard.
The other big piece of news is the addition of Kevin Ku to Team Filthy. MLW promoted him as a ferocious fighter with rapid-fire striking and an unrelenting offensive assault. Ku believes in a ‘violence is forever’ mantra. He has a background in karate and Olympic weightlifting.
I’m so glad that Dominic Garrini was found. I was getting a little worried about his absence deep in the Amazon jungle. Kudos to him for doing what he set out to accomplish. Now, Team Filthy can recreate this classic photo.

Good times.
MLW Underground
MLW Underground will feature a double serving of Sabu versus La Parka. They will compete in a Mexican Massacre Match and then a rematch. In other action, Los Maximos will fight the Samoan Island Tribe. Expect this episode to be hard-hitting and violent.

Quick hits
It’s been an interesting week for the Dynasty. Alexander Hammerstone scored a spokesman deal for JBL Speakers. Commercials were recently filmed in New York. Richard Holliday is working for talk show deals with DAZN, fubo Sports Network, and beIN SPORTS. Gino Medina had a very un-dynastic moment in the gym. Holliday didn’t hesitate to rub it in.

Medina may have lost out on that mamacita, but not to worry. MLW reported that he was seen with a mystery lady last night.
The October 3 event scheduled for Dallas has been postponed until September 11, 2021. The next advertised event is Battle Riot III on December 5 in Philadelphia. Time will tell if that show goes on as planned with fans.
We’ll close with a 20% merch deal over the weekend at MLW Shop.
