Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that — rumors. None of this has been confirmed as fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • In addition to losing his first name, Fightful mentions that Matt Riddle is going to have a more serious presentation going forward. These changes apparently all stem from Vince McMahon being impressed with Riddle’s match against Sheamus on Raw.
  • Fightful also says that McMahon wanted RECKONING to act like she was having a seizure on Raw, but it was changed to a possession after people spoke up about the idea being in poor taste.
  • On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Le Dinner Debonair’s song-and-dance routine on Dynamite was MJF’s idea, but he wanted to use an Elton John song.
  • After Dave Meltzer said he was told weeks ago that Thunder Rosa was dropping the NWA women’s title due to her interest in going to WWE, Billy Corgan stated that she is under contract with NWA into 2021.
  • A listing of political donations at Open Secrets suggests that Chris Jericho has made donations to President Trump’s campaign under both his real name and his gimmick name.
