Early Royal Rumble favorites a mix of new and familiar names

It’s way too early for betting odds to be any kind of indicator about how WWE is going to book next month’s Royal Rumble matches.

But it’s the Rumble, one of the most anticipated events on the wrestling calendar, and possibilities for the WrestleMania 37 card the 2021 Rumble matches will help shape are already being discussed. So when Bovada sent us these odds, they sparked a discussion in the Cageside offices. We figured they might spark some for y’all as well.

As the headline says, the favorites are a mix of established stars & legends and people for whom a Rumble win would be a major step in their career.

On the men’s side, the wrestlers currently getting the best odds are Big E, Edge, Keith Lee and Brock Lesnar. For the women, it’s Rhea Ripley, Ronda Rousey, Shayna Baszler, Alexa Bliss, and current SmackDown Women’s champ Sasha Banks.

Looking for longshots? If Conor McGregor shows up fresh off his scheduled rematch with Dustin Poirier at UFC 257 and wins it, he’s one of several guys who can turn $100 into 10 grand. Same thing happens if you bet that the entire Zelina Vega release was a work and she’s the last woman standing in the ring on Jan. 31 (or whenever the 2021 Royal Rumble PPV ends up happening).
