TLC match card & rumors
The next pay-per-view (PPV) on the WWE schedule is the TLC event set to take place on Sun., Dec. 20, 2020, at the ThunderDome at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. This is the annual event focused on gimmick matches related to tables, ladders, and chairs.
We’re just a week out from showtime and the card looks like this:
Owens initially had issues with Jey Uso, and that eventually led to his going after Reigns and ultimately challenging for the Universal title. This will be a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match.
- Drew McIntyre (c) vs. AJ Styles (WWE championship)
Team Raw earned a clean sweep of Team SmackDown in the men’s elimination match at Survivor Series, so the participants were rewarded with a path to earning a title shot. Two wins later, and Styles became top contender. This will be a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match.
- Bray Wyatt vs. Randy Orton
Wyatt initially started another pursuit of Orton after he won the WWE championship from Drew McIntyre. Orton lost that title shortly thereafter but
- Sasha Banks (c) vs. Carmella (SmackDown women’s championship)
Carmella spent months away from television. When she returned after a series of vignettes, she immediately went after Banks.
- The New Day (c) vs. The Hurt Business (Raw tag team championship)
Cedric Alexander has won multiple singles matches, and that has helped get Shelton Benjamin a title shot alongside him.
- Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler (c) vs. Asuka & Lana (Women’s tag team championship)
Jax has been bullying Lana for some time now, constantly putting her through tables. Despite this, Lana has been lucking her way into wins leading to a shot at the Raw women’s title. She lost, of course, but Asuka ended up becoming her friend and after a couple of improbable wins, they’re challenging for the titles.
That’s the card so far.
The Street Profits vs. Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode, Big E vs. Sami Zayn, and Bobby Lashley vs. Riddle have all been teased or talked about.
