Charlotte & Asuka win women’s tag team titles
WWE wouldn’t have Charlotte Flair return to television at TLC tonight (Sun., Dec. 20, 2020) at the ThunderDome at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, as Asuka’s surprise mystery partner and immediately put the women’s tag team titles on her, would they?
They surely would.

Flair, replacing the injured Lana, who WWE reports is suffering from elbow and knee injuries, looked as good as ever. The match didn’t necessarily lend itself to showcasing that, but Flair was ultimately the one who scored the victory for the team. After Jax broke up a Figure Eight, she hit the Natural Selection on Baszler to get a three count and make her a grand slam champion, and Asuka a double champion.
As for an explanation for why the Raw women’s champion would tap Flair as a partner, well, we’ll just have to wait for that until television this week. For now, Charlotte gets to celebrate with her dad, Ric, who was also in the building to watch the title change.
