Not even murderous arsonists can resist Baby Yoda
Like many wrestling fans, I’ve long struggled with sports entertainer Randy Orton’s on-screen work. Undeniably gifted and capable of delivering great moment, his resumé is unimpeachable. But flashes of brilliance are followed by paint-by-numbers stretches, and when you’ve been a fixture on television for as long as the third-generation wrestler has, it’s easy to only remember the periods where Orton’s coasting.
Randy Orton, the person, on the other hand, has undergone a remarkable face turn in my and many others’ eyes over the course of 2020. He’s demonstrated a willingness to consider others perspectives & experiences that required growth and revealed a curious & empathetic nature. Even more amazingly, he’s done it while remaining the hilarious smart-ass jerk persona he’s always had.
Not sure you need all that background for this, but it doesn’t hurt. This tweet might be his masterpiece, coming off a polarizing match in his roller coaster program with Bray Wyatt, Orton winks at kayfabe while serving up a take almost no one could disagree with…
Listen, I know it’s late. I know I burned a man alive couple days ago and I shouldn’t be trusted, but whatever you do, don’t sleep on #Mandalorian just started season 1 and I think I’m in love #BabyYoda

I’ve been in love with Baby Yoda since last fall, but this year I think I fell in love with Randy Orton.
