Last Woman Standing Match to take place at NXT: New Year’s Evil

A huge match was revealed tonight for the first show of 2021 for NXT: New Year’s Evil. We will see the two powerhouses, Rhea Ripley and Raquel Gonzalez, go at it in a Last Woman Standing Match.

These two women have had a rivalry that has spanned over the past few months. The thing about this feud is that they are often intertwined in various storylines so they have rarely gone one-on-one. Their last singles match was at Halloween Havoc in October and it didn’t disappoint. That match was won by Ripley.

The stipulation of the Last Woman Standing is exactly what is needed to ramp up the excitement factor.

Ripley and Gonzalez had to be held apart on tonight’s NXT from nearly every WWE official in the Capitol Wrestling Center. Ripley took on Dakota Kai with Gonzalez staring on from the top of the ramp. The Nightmare picked up the win but the fight was far from over.

New Year’s Evil will take place on Jan. 6 and at the time of this writing, this is the only women’s match announced. There could possibly be another match added as NXT Women’s Champion Io Shiari has her hands full with a hungry Toni Storm and also a returning Mercedes Martinez.
