With 2020 in the rear-view mirror, Impact celebrated the top 5 matches of the year in a countdown video.

5. Motor City Machine Guns vs The North vs Good Brothers vs Ace Austin & Madman Fulton – Bound for Glory (Oct. 24)

4. Motor City Machine Guns vs The North – Emergence Night 1 (Aug. 28)

3. Sami Callihan vs Tessa Blanchard – Hard to Kill (Jan. 12)

2. Jordynne Grace vs Deonna Purrazzo – Slammiversary (July 18)

1. Eddie Edwards vs Ace Austin vs Eric Young vs Trey Miguel vs Rich Swann – Slammiversary (July 18)

The top pick is no surprise since it won Impact’s award for Match of the Year. Overall, the list is tight with quality contests. I could see the top three being in any order with each bout having a solid case as number one.

A few matches off the top of my head that could make a case for inclusion are Rich Swann winning the world title from Eric Young and Deonna Purrazzo retaining the Knockouts Championship against Jordynne Grace in a 30-minute Ironman match. I would have put Swann’s big night in the top 5 instead of one of the tag bouts.
