Charlotte Flair confirms her spot in the 2021 Royal Rumble match

It should come as no surprise that Charlotte Flair will be participating in the upcoming Royal Rumble match. She made this announcement in an interview with Sarah Schreiber in a WWE Network Exclusive.

Flair is the winner of the 2020 Royal Rumble match and she went on to face Rhea Ripley for the NXT Women’s Championship at WrestleMania. This was a title that was never defended previously at the event. She entered at the number 17 spot and last defeated Shayna Baszler.

Flair would go on to defeat Ripley at Mania and became a two-time NXT Women’s Champion. She would hold the title for 63-days as recognized by WWE prior to dropping the title to Io Shirai in a triple threat match at NXT TakeOver: In Your House. This match also included Rhea Ripley who took the pin.

This will be Flair’s third Royal Rumble appearance as she was last eliminated in 2019 by Becky Lynch. She is only the second woman so far to be officially announced for this year’s match. The first was Nia Jax who announced it last week on RAW.
