Randy Orton to face Drew McIntyre for the first time*

*In 2021. They wrestled five singles matches, a Triple Threat, and two six-man tags in 2020.

Legends Night gave Raw a ratings boost last Monday. But WWE also benefited from the lack of competition from football.

Football is back on Jan. 11, with a college football national championship game pitting two of the most storied programs in history against one another. It’s pretty much a done deal that Raw’s TV numbers are going to take a big hit.

So rather than waste a Goldberg appearance, WWE is going back to a well they drank from often last year…

It doesn’t sound like this is a title match, which means there’s a pretty good chance Randy Orton picks up a win over WWE champion Drew McIntyre. Maybe it will also address Goldberg calling out McIntyre for thinking disrespectful thoughts about Legends when Orton was running around saying disrespectful things to their faces last Monday?

Another possibility would be the return of Bray Wyatt or Alexa Bliss to follow-up on Randy’s pyromaniacal behavior since TLC, and moving us closer to a rumored Firefly Fun House match at Royal Rumble.

Tune in to find out! Unless you’re watching Alabama vs. Ohio State like more than 20 million other people probably will be.
