The card is shaping up for SmackDown next week

WWE is getting quite the rub from the NFL right now, as the Playoffs are airing on FOX and that means some damn good promotion in front of plenty of fans for its television show, Friday Night SmackDown. During the Rams vs. Seahawks game, it was announced that Roman Reigns will be confronting Adam Pearce on next week’s episode.

This will come after Reigns ensured Pearce was not only in a Gauntlet match to determine the next challenger for the Universal championship but that he won it by last pinning Shinsuke Nakamura. This will be the first time Reigns and Pearce face off with the title match booked for Royal Rumble on Jan. 31.

Speaking of Nakamura, WWE also announced today on Talking Smack that he will wrestle Jey Uso in a singles match. Uso was, of course, involved in the process of ensuring Pearce won the Gauntlet match, which meant putting the boots to Nakamura, who had just defeated three straight opponents to put himself in position to secure top contendership.

SmackDown continues to be all about Roman Reigns and his family.

That’s a good thing too.

See you next week!
