WWE still planning Drew McIntyre vs. Goldberg at Royal Rumble
WWE announced just today that Drew McIntyre tested positive for COVID-19. It’s unclear when exactly he tested positive, so it’s hard to know just how long he’s been in quarantine. Even if it started today, however, he would only be on lockdown until Jan. 22, more than one week away from the Royal Rumble pay-per-view scheduled for Jan. 31.
The good news is McIntyre has said he’s one of the lucky folks who is asymptomatic. Assuming all goes well and that continues, there’s no reason to think he won’t be available for the big show.
That’s clearly what WWE is thinking as well, as McIntyre appeared for a second time on Monday Night Raw this week to accept the challenge Goldberg laid down on Raw last week for a WWE title match.
