There can be only ONE tag team in The Inner Circle!

AEW

All Elite Wrestling comes our way from Jacksonville, Florida. Last week during the second night of New Year’s Smash, PAC put Eddie Kingston in his place, Chuck Taylor became Miro’s “butler,” Matt Hardy proved himself to be a money-grabbing carnie, Jericho was accused of being tag team slut, Britt Baker turned out to be a pretty solid stand-up, Kenny Omega had too many friends, Tay Conti and Serena Deeb tore it up, and Darby Allin proved that he is worthy of the belt he carries.

This Week’s Headliner:

The AEW Tag Team Champions aren’t the only ones struggling with friendship problems. The entire Inner Circle is heated!

As you all know, there is one rule in wrestling and it’s that wrestling stables can only have one tag team. It’s like Highlander, except, you know with two people instead of one.

Tonight tag team slut Chris Jericho teams with his mini me MJF to take on fellow Inner Circle members Jake Hager and Sammy Guevara and the only actual tag team in the group, Santana and Ortiz.

I genuinely have no idea who is winning this one. On the one hand, it makes sense for MJF and Jericho to win because they are the leaders of the Inner Circle, but if Satana and Ortiz don’t win, then will they have any incentive to stay in the stable? And don’t forget about the wild card Sammy Hagar! It’s funny! Funny > Logic 90% of the time in wrestling. They could win.

Regardless, it seems like the Inner Circle harmony that was won in Las Vegas isn’t sustainable.

The Title Scene:

The AEW World Champion Kenny Omega “reflects on his dominance.” Which I assume means strategizes on how to prevent Jon Moxley from interrupting his matches and what expensive “I’m sorry” gift to buy The Young Bucks. After all, “business is business, but best friends are forever.”

AEW Women’s Champion? Big shrug. I mean, at this point, who cares? The women’s match we’re all looking forward to is Britt Baker versus Thunder Rosa! Expect a Britt Baker confronting management segment tonight. She said she “doesn’t want to do it,” so I’m sure she’ll get out of it somehow. Right?

Papa Sting congratulates his illegitimate child, the TNT Championship Darby Allin, on his TNT title defense.

Other Things to Keep an Eye On:

– Tonight, AEW and The Dark Order celebrate -1’s birthday. Will Hangman Page get him the gift of his official membership in The Dark Order, or will he ruin the celebration before it starts?

– Cody vs. Peter Avalon because god forbid we have an episode of Dynamite without Cody Rhodes!

-Penelope Ford takes on AEW Dark favorite Leyla Hirsch in what I am sure will be both a good match and a short one.

-Jon Moxley in action tonight. For his sake, I hope it’s against one person and not an entire faction. Though, I’m sure he’d disagree.

Miro shows off his new butler Chuck Taylor. I hope there is a sexy silly outfit involved.

-Matt Hardy & Private Party wrestle Matt Sydal & Top Flight. Flips abound.

-Will we get a follow-up to Jade & Red Velvet? Probably not, but we should!

Tune into AEW on TNT at 8 p.m. EST to see how this all plays out!
