AEW Rewind: Bucks confront Kenny, Taz’s surprise for Sting, more!

Don’t have time to follow all of AEW’s online content? Don’t worry. We got you covered with the AEW Rewind, which will rewind through social media bits and YouTube videos from the past week to prepare you for Wednesday night Dynamite.

Last week on Dynamite, Don Callis pulled a switcheroo to have the Good Brothers replace the Young Bucks as Kenny Omega’s partners in trios action. The opening scene of Being the Elite addressed this issue.

“Duped” – Being The Elite, Ep. 239 featured:

• The Young Bucks were angry about being replaced by the Good Brothers. Kenny Omega claimed that he didn’t know about the change. Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows pleaded ignorance as well. They were just passing through to the Impact taping trying to get a payday. They never want to wrestle anyway. Nick Jackson bought that logic. Fingers were pointed at Don Callis. As long as it wasn’t planned by Omega or the Good Brothers, then the Bucks are cool with them. After Omega and the Good Brothers exited, the Bucks said they thought they were lying 100%.
• Stu Grayson was on the phone trying to acquire a horse made of chocolate. The rest of the Dark Order planned the celebration party in advance of Hangman Page joining the Dark Order. Hangman entered, but they yelled for him to leave. The Dark Order didn’t want to spoil the surprise.
• Allie and Brandon Cutler were cordial in the hallway, then both made faces behind the other’s back.
• Private Party was angry at Matt Hardy for making them look stupid. Hardy was angry about the disrespect calling him a money grabbing carny. Nevertheless, Hardy will guide them toward success. The most important thing is that Private Party wins their match on Dark by any means necessary.
• Kris Statlander abducted Brian Pillman Jr. for testing.
• Peter Avalon and Leva Bates shared awkward small talk as former associates.
• Statlander told Pillman to say, “Eye em sofa king stoop ed.” (I am so f*cking stupid.) Pillman was agitated at calling himself stupid, so Statlander kicked him out.
• Luchasaurus tried to steal a cola when Cutler got in the way. A little bit of trash talk followed before their match on Dark.
• Bates admitted to Kip Sabian that she let him win at video games. Sabian refused to believe that and challenged her to another duel.
• John Silver successfully retained the BTE Championship against Alex Reynolds in a game of beer pong. Instead of ping pong balls, they had to use water bottle caps.
• The Bucks were leaving their new spacious locker room when Hardy strolled in asking for payment due to the contract Matt Jackson signed last week. Hardy took all the money in their wallets, which amounted to $1,000. Also, the contract stated that Hardy is the only one who may have a key to the room. Jackson was confused, since he was pretty sure he signed a blank piece of paper. The Bucks brushed it off, since they are set for life with money.

The first scene of BTE is important to watch, since these things don’t seem to get explained very well on Dynamite. However, the end result didn’t really advance the story much. At least, everyone is on record with putting the blame on Don Callis. That’s some progress.

As for other odds and ends from the past week, Taz has a surprise for Sting to even the odds.

Fresh off becoming #1 contenders for the Impact tag titles last night, Private Party felt like kings with Matt Hardy leading the charge. Private Party is loving the life of private planes and tiny booze bottles. In Matt they trust.

Private Party aren’t the only ones moving up in the world. Cody Rhodes has become a bus guy.

PWI handed out a few of their yearly awards for 2020 to AEW winners. Orange Cassidy took home Most Popular Wrestler. It was the happiest Cassidy has even been.

The Young Bucks were interviewed about winning the honor of Match of the Year against Hangman Page and Kenny Omega. Matt Jackson shared a story of Sting’s praise for the bout.
