Seven title fights on one CMLL card is a big deal. Sometimes several months pass between defenses. The challengers will be chosen by the fans. That adds an enticing element of unpredictability.
The challenger pool has not been revealed yet, but I’m hoping to see a couple of specific matchups. Bandido vs Volador Jr. would be heaven. That has match of the year potential. Niebla Roja & Angel del Oro vs Caristico & Mistico would be an interesting tecnico vs tecnico affair. I hope Sanson, Cuatrero, & Forastero compete against agile opponents, such as Templario or Soberano Jr. The National Trios champs are one of the top two trios in the world in my book. I’d put Poder del Norte from AAA as the other top trio.
CMLL’s 87th Anniversary will be streamed through Ticketmaster Live.
Do seven title fights pique your interest enough to purchase the stream? Which challengers are you hoping for in each title match?
