Kylie Rae extinguishes Kiera Hogan with a victory at Rebellion
Kylie Rae, the newest addition to the Knockouts Division, showed that she has a lot to keep smiling about as she walked out with a victory at IMPACT’s Rebellion. Rebellion was originally scheduled as a pay-per-view event for IMPACT, however, it was changed to a two-night event. This first night featured Rae vs. Kiera Hogan.
Hogan is serving as somewhat of a welcoming committee to Rae and she isn’t happy that there is another name on the roster. The Girl on Fire simply sees the new addition as one more Knockout standing in her way to climb the ladder. After last weeks tussle between the two on Madison Rayne‘s Locker Room Talk, Rae left quite angry with Hogan stating that she was “not very nice.”
The match was a high energy and quickly paced match as both women are surely known for. Rae attempts to end the match earlier than one would expect with the Kylie Special, but Hogan was able to counter with slap. The tension mounts later on in the match when both women deliver a super kick to each other which leads to a vicious back and forth attack. The two exchange forearm strikes and chops.
The culmination of the match starts with a cannonball by Rae to Hogan in the corner. Hogan mounts one last ditch effort in her offense with a super kick to the side of the face and follows it up with more forearm strikes to her opponent. That wasn’t enough to keep Rae down because Hogan was too busy taunting her and not going for a cover. Rae capitalized as she applied the STF submission on Hogan who taps out.
Night Two of Rebellion will take place next Tuesday on April 28. The original line up for the women was a match between Taya Valkyrie and Jordynne Grace for the Knockouts Championship in a Full Metal Mayhem match. This has now been changed to Rosemary vs. Havok in a Full Metal Mayhem match.
Tessa Blanchard is supposed to defend her IMPACT World Title against Eddie Edwards and Michael Elgin. While going over next weeks matches, Josh Matthews stated that there will be an announcement made next week in reference to the World Title.
