Hell in a Cell fallout gives SmackDown its biggest audience in six weeks
WWE’s YouTube
After disappointing season premiere numbers and expectedly poor ones for last week’s move to cable, SmackDown bounced back nicely on Oct. 30. For the first time in a while, WWE had no competition from professional sports. They also had interest coming out of Hell in a Cell and heading into Survivor Series, notably from the excellent Roman Reigns/Jey Uso angle.
It led to average viewership of 2.13 million across two hours, the best number since Sept. 11’s show. Ratings also inched back up to where they were three weeks ago, giving the blue show a share of first place in the key demos (with ABC’s Shark Tank).

And here’s our running tracker of overnight numbers for the new season, but you can access the tab of year one numbers here (all data still via Showbuzz Daily).
WWE and Fox have a week to hype next week’s show, which will have the next moves from the Samoan Dynasty and a rematch of Bayley vs. Sasha Banks for the Women’s title. It’s a much better view than what they were looking at two weeks ago, that’s for sure.
