Zayn finds new and interesting way to keep his Intercontinental title
Late in the day, WWE announced that, out of nowhere, Apollo Crews would be getting a shot at Sami Zayn and the Intercontinental championship on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown. Zayn called it sabotage, an intentional act on the part of those in power at WWE to target him.
So he responded with innovation.
The match was moving along just fine when Zayn went to the outside and tore the ring apron off the side of the ring. That exposed some ropes, where he got Crews’ leg tied up. The referee was counting them both out, but Zayn got back in the ring before 10.
Apollo did not.

You can’t say Zayn doesn’t keep things interesting, even if it wasn’t a traditional finish. If he remains Intercontinental champion for one more episode of SmackDown, he’ll wrestle Bobby Lashley at Survivor Series.
