Serena Deeb vs Thunder Rosa for the NWA Women’s title set for AEW Dynamite

Serena Deeb vs Thunder Rosa

AEW announced that Serena Deeb will defend the NWA Women’s World Championship against Thunder Rosa on this week’s Dynamite.

This will be Deeb’s third title defence since she defeated Rosa for the championship on the Oct, 27 edition of UWN Prime Time Live.

Since the dethroning Rosa, Deeb has successfully defended the title in two excellent matches against “Legit” Leyla Hirsch and most recently Allysin Kay on Full Gear. After the match, Rosa would make a surprise appearance to confront and challenge Deeb for the highly-anticipated rematch.

To add further interest into the match things got a little heated on Twitter.

Thunder Rosa took to Twitter to hype up her appearance on AEW. Britt Baker would take umbrage and fire back in a big way.

Rosa would clap back by stating that she did more for the AEW women’s division in a one minute promo than anybody else in the company in a year.

Ivelisse would then get involved telling Rosa to grow up or she will get put in her place again.

Rosa and Ivelisse have history. Back in September, the two would meet in a match on Dynamite, which was a stiff and hard-hitting affair. So stiff in fact that many assumed that the match broke down into a “shoot”.

The AEW/NWA partnership is very interesting and refreshing as it provides new and excting match ups on AEW programming. But the NWA title does seem to be getting a lot more shine over the actual AEW women’s title, which could be the reason for Thunder Rosa getting such vicisous backlash. However, it could all be a work, which could lead to some very intriguing interactions on Wednesday.
