Many of WWE’s funniest moments of 2020 are debatable, but not who claimed #1
It’s December, which means year-end lists are going to start coming at us – and we’ll gleefully accept them this year, if only because it means we’re that much closer to putting 2020 in the rearview.
And speaking of everyone but Leon Ruff’s least favorite year, several of the videos in the Top Ten Funniest Moments list WWE put out today (Dec. 9) are debatable. Was Alexa Bliss bludgeoning a puppet hilarious or haunting? Is there anyone still laughing Roman Reigns/Baron Corbin dog food stuff by the time it ended?
I’d also quibble with the order of a few. Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles deserve to be higher than seven for their reactions to Vince McMahon during the “Climb the Corporate Ladder” match. And Otis & Mandy’s gender-swapped Judge Reinhold/Phoebe Cates skit may have been dated, but for those of us who got it, it was pretty clever.
But while you might have a different one of his moments at #1, I can’t see giving the top spot to anyone other than R-Truth. The 48/7 7/11 I-95 European champ delivered so many laughs this year, he deserves this title, too.
Here’s the list:
10. Broserweights taunt Undisputed ERA by asking “How much fish could Bobby Fish fry if Bobby Fish could fry fish?” on NXT
9. Street Profits/Viking Raiders on Raw: “Viking Raiders’ bowling strategy” against Street Profits on Raw
8. “Shotzi Blackheart runs over Robert Stone” with her tiny tank on NXT
7. AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan get yelled at by Vince McMahon for “Fighting in the Chairman’s office” at Money in the Bank
6. Kayla Braxton gets slimed instead of Braun Strowman when “Miz & Morrison’s prank goes wrong” on SmackDown
5. “Alexa Bliss smashes Friendship Frog” in Bray Wyatt’s Firefly Fun House on Raw
4. “Otis goes for a win” at Mandy Rose’s pool in SmackDown’s Fast Times At Ridgemont High spoof
3. “King Corbin gets covered in dog food” by Roman Reigns & The Usos on SmackDown
2. “Triple H does it all” on the first SmackDown at the Performance Center
1. R-Truth undeclares for the Royal Rumble on Raw
