AEW & NXT’s early line-ups for the Wednesday Night War’s next battle
Wednesdays are heating up. This is probably a lull in the counter programming war before things get crazy on Jan. 6, but let’s see what will be on offer next week, shall we?
NXT’s only booked one match so far. On tonight’s show, North American champion Johnny Gargano announced that he and the newest adherent of The Way, Austin Theory, would face Leon Ruff & Damian Priest in tag action on Dec. 16. But then Karrion Kross showed up and sent Priest to the hospital for sassing his lady at the top of the episode. So Kushida stepped in and volunteered to tag with Ruff.

Finn Bálor needs an NXT title challenger for New Year’s Evil in a month, and there are lots of moving parts in the women’s scene. So you can also expect matches and segments relative to that to make it on next week’s episode.
As they usually do, AEW’s booked a lot more in advance for the Dec. 16 Dynamite.
– The Hangman Page/Dark Order intrigue ramps up as Page agreed to team with John Silver & Alex Reynolds against Matt Hardy & Private Party.
– After the brawl at the end of the show, Tony Khan booked a 14 man(!) tag match between Inner Circle (Chris Jericho, MJF, Sammy Guevara, Santana, Ortiz, Wardlow & Jake Hager) and Top Flight, Brandon Cutler, Varsity Blondes & Best Friends.
– Angélico vs. Cody Rhodes in Cody’s first singles action since dropping the TNT title to Darby Allin last month at Full Gear.
– SCU vs. The Acclaimed. The latter team, the newly signed Max Caster & Anthony Bowens, will be making their Dynamite in-ring debut. They dissed Frankie Kazarian & Christopher Daniels last week. Tonight, they tried to jump The Young Bucks but were chased off by Kaz & CD.
– Serena Deeb & Big Swole vs. Ivelisse & Diamante
