Kenny Omega appears in two promotions in two different countries on the same night
Kenny Omega just pulled the Rick Rude special. Back in 1997, Rude appeared on both WWE Raw and WCW Nitro during the same evening. Fast forward to last night (Dec. 12, 2020), and Omega appeared on both AAA Triplemania XXVIII and Impact Final Resolution.
In Mexico, Omega wrestled a classic against Laredo Kid to retain the AAA Mega Championship. Definitely check that bout out if you are a fan of Omega. Through the magic of television, Omega also had a family reunion in Nashville, TN on the Impact show.
Omega reminisced with Karl Anderson about the good ole days in Japan as Bullet Club brothers. Anderson had to split for a match against Ethan Page, so Omega and Don Callis needled Anderson about whether his past excellence has faded.
That wasn’t the first time for Omega in Impact, and it won’t be the last.
Obviously, Rude’s double dip is a more important footnote in history, but Omega has him beat in a few regards. Omega appeared in two different promotions in two different countries, and he doesn’t even work for either of them. That’s amazing!
How do you compare Rick Rude’s historic evening to Kenny Omega’s? What can Omega do next to top that?
