Deonna Purrazzo ends the year still Knockouts Champion

Deonna Purrazzo may not have the newly revived tag titles in her near future, but she is still Knockouts Champion. With all things considered, Purrazzo has had a prosperous back half of 2020.

Being released by WWE earlier this year, Purrazzo quickly was able to show up at IMPACT Wrestling. She made a huge statement upon her debut as she went right for the Knockouts Title which at the time was held by Jordynne Grace. Since then, Purrazzo has become a two-time champion which isn’t something many women have done within the past few years. She regained the title in November after losing to Su Yung in October.

She has now defeated Rosemary at Final Resolution which will allow her to ring in the new year still as champ. Purrazzo put the challenger away with the Costa Nova to retain her title. After the match, Rosemary’s tag team partner, Taya Valkyrie, didn’t seem too happy with the results.

In an Exclusive after Purrazzo’s victory, she is seen talking with Kimber Lee about her victory and how Valkyrie would be crazy to think she could take the title off of her. Lee says that Purrazzo has taken down both an undead bride and a demon. Purrazzo says that Valkyrie would be delusional and psychotic if she ever thought she could regain the title.

What is a very good possibility is for Rosemary & Valkyrie to become Knockouts Tag Team Champions. They face Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz this coming Tuesday in the semi-finals to see who will advance to the finals at Hard to Kill on Jan. 16.

Other results from Final Resolution is as follows:

Tenille Dashwood & Kaleb “with a K” defeated Alisha & Eddie Edwards

In the final moments of the match, Alisha is distracted by Sami Callihan’s music hits. This allowed Dashwood to hit the Spotlight Kick and pick up the victory.

Havok & Nevaeh defeated The Sea Stars

The final moments of the match saw The Sea Stars hit a senton/codebreaker combination on Havok. Unfortunately, this wasn’t enough to keep her down and Nevaeh tagged in. After a cutter to Delmi Exo, Nevaeh picked up the win for her team.

The next IMPACT Plus special was announced and it will be Genesis on Jan. 9.
