Deonna Purrazzo named Knockout of the Year and gets challenged for Hard to Kill

IMPACT Wrestling announced the Knockout of the Year award to wrap up 2020. The winner was of course the Knockouts Champion, Deonna Purrazzo. Purrazzo has had quite the back half of the year since joining IMPACT and is ending the year as a two-time champion.

EDIT: She has also taken Wrestler of the Year!!

Since joining the Knockouts, Purrazzo defeated Jordynne Grace to become Knockouts Champion at Slammiversary. She then would go on to defend the title against Grace in the very first Knockouts 30-minute Ironman Match at Emergence. Su Yung defeated her for the title at Bound for Glory, however, Purrazzo bounced right back at Turning Point to become a two-time champ.

Not only has she defeated Yung and Grace, but she has also defended her title against Rosemary and Yung as Susie. Her next opponent for the Hard to Kill event in January seems to be Taya Valkyrie. Although The Virtuosa has said that she will “get back to her soon,” Valkyrie laid out the challenge.

After defeating Rosemary at Final Resolution, Purrazzo has been in the eyeshot of the longest reigning Knockouts Champion. Valkyrie and Rosemary took out Purrazzo and Kimber Lee in the Knockouts Tag Team Tournament thus ruffling the feathers of the champion. Purrazzo and Lee then were the reason why Valkyrie/Rosemary lost in the semi-finals to Tasha Steelz and Kiera Hogan. Wera Loca wants revenge and wants to take the title off Purrazzo at Hard to Kill.

Who do you think will kick off the new year as champion come Jan. 16? Leave your thoughts in the comment section below.
