AEW Rankings: Hikaru Shida has a new record in her sights
AEW released their latest rankings (Dec. 23, 2020). Let’s check out the movers and shakers.
Men:
No changes this week.
Women:
No movement here either. Hikaru Shida will be action against Alex Gracia on Dynamite. When Shida wins, she will have unofficially locked down the record for most wins in a year in AEW’s short history. That is unless Cody Rhodes wrestles three matches next week, which I could see his character trying to achieve due to extreme competitiveness and the test of challenging himself.
Tag Team:
A clean sweep of nothingness across the board. The Acclaimed have a title shot tonight on Dynamite against the Young Bucks.
In college sports, the top 5 doesn’t change at all in some weeks, so I’m okay with the lack of action in the rankings this time. I’m hoping that AEW is just holding off on mixing it up until the new year when records reset. For example, there’s not much value for the Lucha Bros and Santana & Ortiz to take down top 5 teams this late in the year, because there is not enough time to rocket up the charts for a title shot.
Do you agree with AEW’s rankings this week? If not, what would you change?
