Cageside Community Star Ratings for TLC 2020

WWE.com

After every WWE PPV, we ask you all to rank each match on the show using the star rating system made famous by Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer.

Lately, we’ve been leaving it at that. Cagesider extraordinaire Richie DiMaso spoiled us for a while by crunching the numbers and doing interesting analysis of the results, but it’s a lot of work and he understandably drifted away from his excellent Ratings FanPosts.

We missed them, however… and felt kind of bad your votes weren’t producing easy to digest results. So, on a slow day, I finally got around to building a spreadsheet, and am pleased to be able to present to you the Cageside Community Star Ratings for Dec. 20, 2020’s TLC PPV.

This won’t have the tables Richie did, or as much of the commentary as he provided, either. But it’s a look at how our little corner of the wrestle web graded the seven matches that happened in the ThunderDome last weekend – and how our subjective grade compares to Meltzers.

* Meltzer doesn’t rate matches that have been edited, thus the lack of one for the Firefly Inferno Match.

TLC was a strong show, and that’s reflected in the fact that Dave only had one sub-3 Star bout and we didn’t have any. That match – the Kickoff show’s eight-man tag – was also where our Rating differed the most from the Observer’s.

Going forward, I’ll (hopefully) keep track of historical data and will provide context to where scores fit into bigger annual or all-time pictures. For now, well, you have to (re)start somewhere.

Do Cageside’s Community Rankings match up with your personal ones? Any final thoughts on the last WWE PPV of 2020?
