Purrazzo to defend Knockouts Championship against Taya at Hard to Kill

Fresh off winning awards for Knockout of the Year and Wrestler of the Year, Deonna Purrazzo has a chance to open 2021 with a major statement. Her next title challenger has been set for Impact’s Hard to Kill PPV on January 16.

Last week, Taya Valkyrie called her shot to be next in line for the Knockouts Championship.

This week, Purrazzo accepted. It will soon be time for the Virtuosa to paint a masterpiece against La Wera Loca.

I like Purrazzo’s approach to building a legacy. Taya is a top tier talent, who held the Knockouts strap for 377 days. She won the title on January 6, 2019 and ran the table for the rest of that year. Taya’s strength lies in making it a fight, while Purrazzo thrives on strategy. This bout absolutely has show stealing potential.

The Hard to Kill card on January 16 currently stands at:

  • Kenny Omega, Karl Anderson, & Luke Gallows vs Rich Swann, Alex Shelley, & Chris Sabin
  • Knockouts Championship: Deonna Purrazzo (c) vs Taya Valkyrie
  • X-Division Championship: Manik (c) vs Rohit Raju vs Chris Bey
  • Knockouts tag title tournament final: Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz vs TBD

Hogan and Steelz will face the winner of Havok & Nevaeh versus Jordynne Grace & Jazz.

Are you excited for Purrazzo to defend the Knockouts Championship against Taya? Who are you predicting to be the victor?
