In the wake of WWE’s announcement that Drew McIntyre tested positive for COVID-19, Fightful Select is reporting the WWE champion is just one of several affected by an outbreak that encompasses “almost all nationally televised brands.”

In addition to WWE’s Raw and SmackDown, AEW and Impact are mentioned as promotions with wrestlers who’ve contracted the coronavirus. This week’s Dynamite was taped last Wednesday, so aside from the already announced COVID-influenced change to its women match, the New Years Smash Night Two card should be fine. Tuesday’s Impact is also pre-recorded, but the Hard to Kill PPV and a subsequent television taping scheduled for this weekend could require changes.

Per WrestleVotes, Raw will still feature a Randy Orton bout tonight (Jan. 11), as WWE is searching for a “suitable replacement” for McIntyre.

Regarding the outbreak as a whole, Fightful’s report states that WWE expected positive tests after the holidays. Officials are actually surprised the situation isn’t worse.

More as we have it.
