MLW Roundup: Jacob Fatu title fight, grudge match, more!
Let’s catch up on the latest news in MLW and preview tonight’s episode of Fusion. Jacob Fatu will be defending the heavyweight title against ACH, and the grudge match between Jordan Oliver and Simon Gotch will finally be settled.
Heavyweight kingpin on MLW Fusion
The main event of the evening on Fusion will be Jacob Fatu putting the MLW World Heavyweight Championship on the line against ACH. Anytime Fatu steps in the ring, it is always a pleasure to watch carnage ensue. ACH should put up a valiant effort, but I’m betting every cent I own on Fatu squishing him like a bug. It should be awesome.
To make matters more difficult for ACH, he was attacked by a group of ruffians outside his gym in Texas. Damage was done to ACH’s ribs, but he promised MLW that he will compete against Fatu. Leading culprits behind the ambush seem to be Team Filthy and Contra Unit. Tom Lawlor has motive due to being steamed about ACH getting a title shot over him. Contra has motive, because, well, they are Contra. Eye witness video leans toward Lawlor and Kevin Ku in disguise. Filthy Tom will address the accusations on Fusion.
The grudge match between Jordan Oliver and Simon Gotch was supposed to take place two weeks ago, but Contra formulated a ruse to postpone the match and hit a backstage attack instead. The time is here for that fight to finally take place. Oliver and Gotch are scheduled to go one-on-one tonight.
Contra’s newest soldier will also be in action. Daivari looks to make a statement against Zenshi. Also advertised are Richard Holliday and Savio Vega giving updates on the upcoming Caribbean Championship match as well as Alicia Atout interviewing Salina de la Renta about the mysterious new owner of Promociones Dorado.
MLW Fusion streams on Fubo Sports Network Wednesday nights at 7 pm ET and 10 pm ET, posts on YouTube Wednesdays at 7 pm ET, and airs on beIN SPORTS Saturday nights at 10 pm ET. You can also check out MLW streaming on demand with DAZN. In addition, MLW is broadcast in over 20 countries.
Quick hits
LA Park and Hijo de LA Park won the MLW tag titles last week in a screwjob. Since Salina de la Renta reacquired their services for Promociones Dorado, she got to celebrate with the gold.

Los Parks don’t care that they had the odds in their favor with Tom Lawlor as special referee.

The Von Erichs took a mature approach to their bullshit loss. It sounds like they will be back stronger than before.
Believe it or not, this is exactly what we needed to take that next step https://t.co/XLKekgHHs7

Ross and Marshall plan to set things straight with Tom Lawlor then use their rematch clause against Los Parks.
Salina had a busy night last week as executive producer. She also brought in Mil Muertes for his MLW debut. He is coming to kill anyone and everyone.

As if that wasn’t enough, Salina sold Promociones Dorado to Azteca Underground, Inc. MLW CEO Court Bauer tweeted out what may be a hint of the new owner’s identity.

I don’t know if that key was intentional or coincidence, but there is only one man that comes to my mind when referring to keys and Lucha Underground. Dario Cueto! He wore a key around his neck that was used to lock Matanza in a cage.
Richard Holliday has a very important announcement.
Im growing my hair out.

I hope this leads to hair vs hair against Gino Medina. MLW can use mamacitas as lumberjacks.
We’ll close with new shirts in the MLW shop. One is for the new tag champs.

The other is to raise funds for Septimo Dragon after a hit-and-run accident in Mexico.
