Sting’s comeback match is official!

All Elite Wrestling

Sting has not competed in a pro wrestling match since he lost against Seth Rollins at WWE’s Night of Champions 2015, more than 5 years ago. That’s about to change.

AEW has announced that Sting will team up with Darby Allin to take on Ricky Starks and Brian Cage in a Street Fight. This match will take place on Feb. 27 at AEW’s next pay-per-view, Revolution.

Last night’s (Jan. 20) episode of Dynamite heavily teased that this match was coming soon. It’s no surprise that it’s taking place on pay-per-view. Sting is a legend who won’t be wrestling often, so most of his matches will likely be reserved for AEW’s pay-per-view cards.

Sting is also approaching 62 years of age and shouldn’t be taking many (or any) bumps. He has previously mentioned that he hopes to participate in cinematic matches while in AEW, so it seems like a pretty good bet that his comeback match will be a pre-taped fight with heavy editing. But we don’t know that detail for sure just yet.

How excited are you to see Sting’s first match in AEW?
